Omar, 26

"I figured out there was a better part of life somewhere else. it took me awhile."

Omar is a Greenville native; specifically West Greenville. His upbringing and surroundings were challenging, but enough life experience and observation inspired Omar to change the game for his community. He says he has seen enough in his lifetime that he knows he does not want to contribute to destroying the community that he is proud of. It may not be a perfect community, but he knows it is worth the investment. 

Beyond being involved in his community, he is dedicated to being a strong role model by being a part of his fraternity Nu Gamma Psi and as a father to his children. 

"I am not a baby daddy. I am father. I am a Black father. Full-time. I read to my kids. I teach them everything I know."
